My Mission

At MLK Hair, my goal is simple — to help you achieve healthy, confident, beautiful hair without stress, judgment, or complicated routines.

About Megan Keck,
MBA | Cosmetologist & Clinical Trichologist

At MLK Hair, my mission is to help you achieve healthy, confident, beautiful hair—without stress, judgment, or complicated routines.

I’ve always believed that how we feel about ourselves—including our hair—shapes how we show up in the world. When I decided to enroll at Evans Hairstyling College, my thought was simple: if I didn’t like doing hair, at least I’d have access to good-quality products. I graduated in 2008, and what began as curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion. That early love of both connection and quality has shaped everything I do today—from my education to how I help clients find the most effective, streamlined routines possible.

While earning additional degrees from BYU–Idaho and Idaho State University, I built a loyal salon clientele—working evenings, weekends, and between classes because I genuinely loved the work. Over time, I realized that great hair care is both creative and clinical, which inspired me to pursue advanced education in cutting, color formulation, and trichology.

In January 2025, I earned my certifications as a Hair Loss Practitioner and Associate Trichologist, completing my Clinical Trichologist Certification in October 2025. These milestones deepened my understanding of scalp health, follicular biology, and hair restoration therapies—allowing me to help clients achieve real, lasting results.

I also pursue continuing education every year, attending both technical hair education conferences and trichology conferences to stay up to date on the latest research, techniques, and ingredient innovations. My travels have included international events like Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, where I explore advancements in hair science, scalp care, and product formulation.

My inner “hair science nerd” means I’ve personally researched every product I carry to ensure it’s both safe and effective—so your routine stays simple, smart, and results-driven.

After years of balancing salon work with a career in marketing, I made the decision in October 2024 to make MLK Hair my full-time focus. Today, I specialize in helping men and women in East Idaho restore hair health and confidence through personalized, science-backed care. Whether you’re visiting for a lived-in color refresh or a customized hair restoration plan, you’ll always receive one-on-one care in a private, supportive environment. My goal is for every client to leave feeling like the best version of themselves—with hair that looks and feels amazing, and the confidence to care for it at home.
