Why  I Choose Trichology?

I became a trichologist to move beyond the guesswork of “try this shampoo and hope it helps.” I wanted to truly understand the cause of hair loss and scalp disorders — and how to treat them effectively.

What is trichology?

Trichology is the branch of science that studies the hair and scalp. As a trichologist, I assess the health of the follicles, scalp environment, and contributing factors — like hormones, stress, and nutrition — to identify the cause of hair or scalp issues and develop a personalized treatment plan.

What conditions can a trichologist help with?

Trichologists support clients experiencing:

  • Hair thinning or shedding (including Androgenetic Alopecia, Telogen Effluvium, and Alopecia Areata)

  • Scalp disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis

  • Scalp irritation, itching, or excess oil

  • Slow growth, brittle hair, or hair breakage

 What is a multi-therapeutic approach?

A multi-therapeutic approach means using multiple evidence-based therapies — not just one product or treatment — to address hair and scalp issues from every angle. This may include professional scalp treatments, low light therapy, growth serums, nutrition support, lifestyle recommendations, and medical collaboration to create lasting, measurable results.

What happens during a scalp analysis?

Your first visit includes a detailed consultation and microscopic scalp analysis to assess follicle density, buildup, inflammation, and scalp balance. From there, we design a customized plan that targets the cause of your concern and sets clear expectations for progress.

How long does it take to see results?

Hair growth takes time. Most clients begin to notice visible improvement in texture, shedding, or scalp comfort within three to six months of consistent care. I document progress through digital photos at months 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12, so you can see your results over time.

Do you work with doctors or dermatologists?

Yes — I frequently collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and dermatologists to ensure each client receives complete care. My role is to support and enhance medical treatment, not replace it. This partnership creates better long-term outcomes for those with hormonal, autoimmune, or chronic scalp conditions.

 Multi-Therapeutic Approach

What’s the difference between a trichologist and a dermatologist?

A dermatologist focuses on diagnosing and medically treating skin and scalp diseases, while a trichologist focuses on improving the function and environment of the hair and scalp. Trichologists provide non-medical, evidence-based care that complements dermatology, offering a bridge between beauty and science.

Can trichology help if I’ve already tried everything?

Yes — most of my clients come to me after trying multiple shampoos, oils, and treatments without results. Trichology looks beyond surface care to identify the why behind the problem. By addressing the root causes with a multi-therapeutic plan, we can achieve progress where one-size-fits-all products have failed.

Where are you located?

I offer in-person trichology and scalp health services in Idaho Falls and Rexburg, proudly serving clients across East Idaho. Appointments are available for both men and women, and consultations can be booked directly online.

I also serve many clients remotely and can complete the entire process via Zoom or FaceTime calls.

 Multi-Therapeutic Approach

How do I get started?

The first step is a Comprehensive Scalp Analysis, where we assess your hair and scalp condition and outline your personalized plan. From there, we decide together what treatments, home care, or medical collaboration will give you the best outcome.
